I'm published in Best Sex Writing of the Year, Volume 1!

It’s still surreal to say. I’m published. My name. Epiphora. On the pages of a book. Followed by my words — about dongs, no less. It’s not something I’ll be showing to my high school journalism teacher at his retirement party next month, but that doesn’t make it less meaningful. In fact, this book is a special sort of validation of my work as a sex writer. My mom already made me order a copy for her — and sign it. Best Sex Writing of the Year, Volume 1 was edited by Jon Pressick, whom interviewed me flawlessly for his Sex City Radio show last year. I submitted several pieces for consideration: “The 2 Weeks of My Sex Life I Lost to Zoloft,” “My Vagina is a Black . . . read more

How I know squirting is real (and also not pee)

So I was interviewed for a piece about female ejaculation/squirting for Fusion recently. The article finally went live, and lo and behold, I’m not mentioned at all because some new bullshit study came out that had to trump everything. Also, they needed to make room for all those animated GIFs. I’m no scientist and I’m not in the business of picking apart studies, but I will say that its findings contradict several other studies which have previously shown that ejaculate contains zero or low levels of urea and creatinine. Its findings also go against several thousand million1 vagina-owners, including myself, who have reported that the stuff they ejaculate does not look, smell, or taste like pee. Also, WHO FUCKING CARES what the chemical make-up of the ejaculate . . . read more

All the names I dropped on Sex Out Loud radio

It occurred to me, 30 minutes after my interview with Tristan Taormino for Sex Out Loud Radio aired today (and I was finally able to breathe again), that perhaps I should compile a list of links to all the stuff I mentioned on the show. My brain is not used to talking about stuff without using links for context! Such a millennial. So first, download the episode or stream it right here, and follow along below with the relevant links. Then, leave me a comment with your thoughts on the show. Any glaring omissions? Want to berate me for not having had anal sex yet (POSER, RIGHT)? Go right ahead! Interview in XBIZ Premiere magazine!

Interview in XBIZ Premiere magazine!

Guys! I have news! I was interviewed in the April issue of XBIZ Premiere, a prominent adult industry magazine, for a newish feature called “Blogger Spotlight.” Fist pump! My interviewer was XBIZ Associate Managing Editor and badass Ariana Rodriguez, who asked me how my blog got on its feet, what I write about, my relationship with my readers, the value of sex toy reviews (I HAVE MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS), and what it takes to be a good blogger. The magazine can be accessed in its digital form — click “view current issue online” to digitally turn its pages, or click here to go straight to a PDF version (be warned; it’s big!). The interview is on page 121. Here’s what it looks like in . . . read more
