The first thing I noticed about the Fun Factory G-Twist was that it was quite large. The second thing I noticed was that the battery compartment was impossible. Worst way to start off a masturbation session: getting agitated at being unable to remove the battery cap. You’re supposed to squeeze both sides of the light gray plastic so that the dark gray plastic part (with the knob on it) will pop off. Easier said than done. After much squeezing and pulling between my boyfriend and I, we finally resorted to using a flat-head screwdriver to pry it open. I thought we were going to break it, but luckily, we didn’t.
Does it matter that the battery compartment is so difficult? I think so, because in this case, I truly dread having to attempt to remove the battery cap. I will actually avoid using this vibrator because I simply don’t want to deal with it. I need all the arm strength I can get, and why waste it on a battery cap?
As you may have gathered, I have very mixed feelings about this vibrator. It has several things going for it: it’s made of 100% silicone, the shaft is very flexible, the vibrations are intense and concentrated in the head (but travel throughout the shaft). The turn dial, while it may get in the way at times, is easy to turn with a thumb — and the vibration increases continually. With those features alone, this vibe already beats out many other vibrators on the market.
But I had some issues with using it. And, to be honest, I’m still trying to figure out what’s bothering me. I can’t figure out if it’s the size of the shaft or the ridges on it, but one of them is causing me discomfort. The diameter of the shaft is 1 1/2″, so that’s pushing it for my vagina (one day I’m going to laugh at that sentence… I hope). I just couldn’t bring myself to thrust for very long, as it would become a bit irritating to my vaginal walls. As for the G-spot curved tip — it didn’t seem like anything special to me, but again, I wasn’t able to thrust crazily like I usually do for G-spot stimulation.
Oh, and the “clitoral bump” doesn’t hit my clit. No surprise there. The shaft is muy pliable, so I tried bending it up, but then it just got in the way of my own version of clitoral stimulation.
I’m hoping that, as my vagina gets better at handling girth, I will be able to thrust comfortably with this vibe. I don’t want this to deter anyone just because my vagina isn’t up to the challenge. So if you know your vagina can handle a 1 1/2″ diameter toy and you crave strong vibrations, then the G-Twist might be up your alley. Oh, and if you want to wrestle with the battery cap each time you use it.
